The Army Physical Fitness Test ( APFT ) is designed to determine whether you have the physical strength to fulfill the physical demands of the military. They are also required to put their arms out like the crossbar of a letter T. In addition, they have to do push-ups and pull-ups for three minutes. Besides, soldiers must be able to hang from a pull-up bar and raise their knees to elbow level.
Army Physical Fitness Test Standards require that a soldier’s BCT scores must be at least 60 points in each event. He must also achieve a total score of 150 points. If a soldier does not meet the APFT standards, he must take another event to prove that he is fit enough. The alternate event must be approved by the commander and must be at least as long as the standard test. A soldier must also receive 90 days of training to meet the standards of the Army Physical Fitness Test.
